As sleep drowns us into unconsciousness, we enter into another world much like, yet different from the world we live in. We enter the world of dreams. In our dreams, everything is possible. Even things that can only happen in fantasies and our imagination come to life. It is like watching a fantasy movie where we are actors rather than the spectators. Sometimes the story makes sense, but most often it left us wondering what it was all about and what it meant. We dream every night, but oftentimes we only remember parts of the dream or we completely forget what we dreamed about.
It is said that dreams are one of the mysteries of the human mind. Since ancient times, people believed that dreams have meanings and it may offer guidance to the future [1]. The Bible contains many stories about dreams and how it affected the future of the dreamer. Some of the most notable stories are that of King Nebuchadnezzar and Daniel’s interpretation (Daniel 2), and the Pharaoh’s dream interpreted by Joseph as seven years of plenty and seven years of famine in Egypt (Genesis 41). Joseph’s interpretation enabled the Pharaoh to store food during the years of plenty in preparation for the years of famine.
Are there really clues in our dreams that may help us live a better life? Diane de Villiers, author of Dream Journey Guide thinks so. Here are 10 Ways your Dreams can Change your Life.
