Feng Shui Tips for Luck

Posted on Apr 16th, 2009 by Joann : Life Magick: Manifesting Desires Joann
When good things come to us and everything seems to fall into place, we often say we are lucky. If the opposite happens, we say we are unlucky. Good or bad, we often attribute the circumstances of our lives to this invisible force or energy called luck. We can manipulate the kind of energy that comes into our lives so that we are more likely to attract positive circumstances. This is through the Chinese art of Feng Shui.

Feng Shui focuses on where and how a house is situated; the locations of the rooms; and the kinds, and positions of the objects contained in a house/room. There are certain ways to arrange these elements to create the most auspicious luck for the person or people living in that house. Feng Shui has also identified objects and positions which carry positive chi (energy) and those which carry the opposite. So the arrangement prinicples involve the elimination of all things that carry bad chi or positions that promote it, and to enhance the use of the objects/positions which carry the good chi.

To get tips for auspicious luck through Feng Shui, read this article found at Manifesting with the Law of Attraction. It claims it can change your luck drastically.

Money Mystery

Posted on Mar 4th, 2009 by Joann : Life Magick: Manifesting Desires Joann
People from all walks of life want to have money. Even those who already have still work to have more. And they get more. However, those who have less seem to have a hard time increasing what little they have.

The parable in the Bible about the servants who were entrusted with money comes to mind. Those who invested what was given to them were able to increase it and it pleased the master. But the servant who just hid the money for fear of losing it, return the exact amount given to him and the master was not impressed at all.

Your attitude towards money can determine your having more or less of it. When you know and believe you have more, you tend to use it confidently and wisely so it increases. But if you know and believe you have less, you tend to hoard it and spend it only on things that do not produce any return.

Anne Hartley, successful coach and author of several success books, talks about why education and hard work is not enough to make you rich. In “Money with Soul,” she delves further into the nature of money and how you can block its flow into your life.

What could you never give up?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 01, 2009:

Life and the joys of living. Many people may raise their eyebrows and say, "who would give up their lives anyway?" Well, aside from those who want to commit suicide, there are ways to give up your life and the joys of living. Like being tied up to the past, feeling unworthy and not loving oneself, not living your full potentials, or measuring one's worth from other people's points of view.

Your Life In Your Dreams

Posted on Feb 28th, 2009 by Joann : Life Magick: Manifesting Desires Joann
As sleep drowns us into unconsciousness, we enter into another world much like, yet different from the world we live in. We enter the world of dreams. In our dreams, everything is possible. Even things that can only happen in fantasies and our imagination come to life. It is like watching a fantasy movie where we are actors rather than the spectators. Sometimes the story makes sense, but most often it left us wondering what it was all about and what it meant. We dream every night, but oftentimes we only remember parts of the dream or we completely forget what we dreamed about.

It is said that dreams are one of the mysteries of the human mind. Since ancient times, people believed that dreams have meanings and it may offer guidance to the future [1]. The Bible contains many stories about dreams and how it affected the future of the dreamer. Some of the most notable stories are that of King Nebuchadnezzar and Daniel’s interpretation (Daniel 2), and the Pharaoh’s dream interpreted by Joseph as seven years of plenty and seven years of famine in Egypt (Genesis 41). Joseph’s interpretation enabled the Pharaoh to store food during the years of plenty in preparation for the years of famine.

Are there really clues in our dreams that may help us live a better life? Diane de Villiers, author of Dream Journey Guide thinks so. Here are 10 Ways your Dreams can Change your Life.

In Pursuit of Happiness

Posted on May 15th, 2008 by Joann : Life Magick: Manifesting Desires Joann

There is wisdom in these words of C.P. Snow, "The pursuit of happiness is a most ridiculous phrase; if you pursue happiness you'll never find it." Happiness is not on the run, it is ever present within you. However, the decision to be happy or to be sad or angry is yours & yours alone.

The idea of pursuing happiness may have come from the thought that you can only be happy WHEN you already have what you want. Most people tend to postpone happiness until they have enough money, until they have met the right person, until their children have finished college and all other excuses. They have forgotten that everyday is a different day from the rest.

According to the article The Keys to Happiness, and Why We Don't Use Them, research have shown that people who are living more satisfying lives are those who appreciate what they have and grateful for even the smallest things. They forgive others, practice positive thinking and invest time & energy with family & friends. The same article also mentioned Gregg Easterbrook, researcher and author of The Progress Paradox: How Life Gets Better While People Feel Worse (Random House, 2004) pointing out to Sigmund Freud's theory that people are unhappy by default because happiness takes a lot more effort than being unhappy. After all, it is always perceived that there is more to be unhappy about than to be happy about.

How I Manifested the Law of Attraction

Posted on Aug 29th, 2007 by Joann : Life Magick: Manifesting Desires Joann

10 years ago I experienced a very challenging period in my life. It was a very difficult time but it was then that I had the opportunity to discover the power of my being. It was a period of searching for meanings & finding answers to questions. I also had the opportunity to evaluate my relationship with God. From that time on that relationship took a different direction, but towards a better one.

At the height of my anguish I used to look upon the heavens and asked why or how. One such occasion brought me to ask, “Is there anyway I can change my situation or my life through some kind of power?” No answer. Each time I cry up to Him I knew I had to be contented with asking out loud and receiving silence for a reply.

The answer came but at was in the most unexpected way and when I least expected it. The difficult time went on with me pretending everything is alright on the outside but I was being torn to pieces inside. The situation involved my parents and in an effort to mend my relationship with them I increased the frequency of my visits with them. I always time my visit during dinner because that is when we all have the chance to talk longer as we relaxed after eating.

On one occasion, we shared the dinner and had a good talk. After which, we decided to call it a night so I stood up and got ready to leave. As I was walking to the door, I happen to glance upon a bookshelf which was full of books of different genre. A green book about a foot tall caught my eye. It wasn't actually something new. I have noticed it before but I just didn't bother to pick it up to know what it was all about. That day, however, I walked over towards the shelf, picked up the book and read the synopsis at the back. It was not really my kind of book. I didn't even fully understand what the synopsis said. It did say it was about perception of life events and about changing my life. So I thought I will just take it home and read it if there’s no good movie on T.V.

I took the book home. When I reached home I prepared for bed and then scanned through the T.V. channels to see if something is worth watching. Finding that there was none, I turned it off. I climbed to bed and tried to sleep but, sleep eluded me. So turned on the bedside lamp & picked up the book which was on my bedside table hoping that it will lull me to sleep. Well, contrary to my first thought I was unable to sleep at all. I was awake all night barely aware of the time as I devoured the book. I couldn't put it down!

The first few parts were not really that remarkable, but it intrigued me because I didn't know what is supposed to happen to the hero. It mounted to full excitement when I got to the part of the hero’s adventures. I started reading at about 8:30 pm. By the time I looked out of the window it was already light outside. A look at the clock revealed at was already 6 am and there were 2 or 3 chapters left. I finished that book that very morning. As it promised, it changed my life forever. The book was written as a fiction, but the insights it presented was not. From that day on I hunted and bought every book about the subject. I applied it to my life and have seen the result. At first, there were some successes & more failures, but as I practiced more the results got better.

That book changed the way I looked at the challenging and painful situation I was in. It made me realized that my questions have been answered all along. I just didn't notice it before because I didn't put meaning to the coincidences that took place. Finding the book was just one of the answers I received.

I remembered that one time I cried out to the heavens, “I am so tired of crying please make the pain go away. Have mercy.” But I went on crying. I turned on the T.V. to drown out my cries and it was on HBO. A very good movie was on. Before I knew it I was already engrossed and forgot about the my misery. After the movie I went to bed and fell asleep as soon as my head touched the pillow.

Another time I was crying hard again and begging for release. I received a very funny text message from a friend who had no idea I was already drowning in tears. I couldn't help but laugh hard at the joke and the laughter was like a vacuum cleaner that sucked away the heaviness and pain in my chest. It didn't matter to me that neighbors will think I was going crazy I just laughed and laughed because it felt so good.

Then there was another incident that really freaked me out. I woke up crying in the middle of the night. It was so quite and everything was so still that it added to the feeling of melancholy I was experiencing. I raved & ranted to God about him not loving me because he brought these anguish and problems to my life. I called Him a liar. I told Him He doesn't keep His promise about loving me. I kept on repeating that He does not love me. Then I grew tired of crying and no more tears seemed to be coming out.

I turned on the T.V. and it was on EWTN the Catholic channel. Each of the

10 commandments was being shown on screen and it was on the 8th commandment. After the 10th commandment another image was shown. I couldn't remember what the image was because my attention was captured by the words beside it. It said, “YOU ARE LOVED.” My God it blew away all painful emotions, misery, anger, and depression I was feeling! I was just so frightened!

It took me another 3 years before I finally got over that painful episode. If it hadn't been for my innate stubbornness and my struggle for control I wouldn't have suffered that long.

By the way, the book that led me to the law of attraction was none other than the Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield. Yes it was a fiction, but it tells of how you attract the situations, the people, & the objects that may hold the answers to your questions or your problems. It tells how to notice coincidences and how they are related to the issues you are facing. It tells how the persons in your life are not just there by accident but that you attracted them because they bring messages that may help you find what you are seeking. My library now does not only contain the Celestine Prophecy, it also contains:

Manifesting Abundance

Posted on Jul 26th, 2007 by Joann : Life Magick: Manifesting Desires Joann

People have always perceived money, wealth, abundance or prosperity to be scarce. By default, we have come to accept that and live like that in our everyday reality. We have been raised with our parents arguing about money or the lack of resources, we had to scrimp because there is little money, and we have heard a great deal about what the “want” of money can lead people to do.

It is exactly that “want” that leaves people wanting for more. The Law of Attraction or manifesting principle states that “you attract the things that your mind or thoughts focused on”. By this law, your “wanting” of money or abundance makes you want it more, but you are not attracting or creating it at all. All you will succeed in “wanting” is creating more of the same feeling.

Now this law is a natural law. It is part and parcel of the workings of the universe and therefore it will always apply to you whether you want what you are manifesting or not. This is not new and I am sure you’ve heard about all these before. If you haven’t heard of this, you might have applied this before albeit unconsciously.

abundance from which all things flow

As I have said, money or abundance is scarce in our reality because we have accepted it as such by witnessing hardships & financial problems over the years. This way of thinking is already like a habit. Habits are already automatic actions and unconsciously done. However, you can use the manifesting principle cited above to consciously attract abundance to you in the same you have unconsciously attracted scarcity. Just turn it around!

Yes it is easily said than done, but it can definitely be done. Overturning this “pauper mindset” as I call it is not just going to take a day or two. Years of living with it has ingrained it into our subconscious. It is going to take a strong & determined will power to overcome its hold in your psyche. The single most important step you can do right now is to make a firm a decision to ACCEPT THE ABUNDANCE THAT IS RIGHTFULLY YOURS. You can say it out loud right now (just don’t let anybody hear you, they might think you’ve gone over the edge!). Say, “I ACCEPT THE ABUNDANCE THAT IS RIGHTFULLY MINE!” If this is the first time you have done it, it is going to sound embarrassing. Just repeat the affirmation as many times as you can. Say it out loud and start with pretending that you really believe it.

Here are other things you should try:

1. Aside from saying out loud your affirmation, write it down, draw it, make a symbol of it and carry it around. Be specific. Be positive.

2. Visualize money in your hands or in your wallet as if you are holding it already.

3. Do meditation & self-hypnosis. During hypnosis, the mind which is always full of haphazard & clashing thoughts is tamed down. During this time, it becomes more receptive
to the ideas, like your affirmations, that you introduce to it.

4. Pretend as if there truly is abundance in your life right now. No, I am not saying you have to live beyond your means or spend unnecessarily. Start by giving thanks for whatever blessings you have right now, including the ones you take for granted because it is always there, like air or the beauty in nature. Make a habit of giving thanks for the smallest goodness or kindness you have received.

5. Make a habit of reading motivational books daily.

6. Act!

7. Even if you have successfully manifest abundance, continue affirming, meditating and reading motivational books.

Outflow Love and Blessings

Posted on May 16th, 2007 by Joann : Life Magick: Manifesting Desires Joann
The universe returns what you have given freely a thousand times over. What you sow is what you reap. In order to receive you must give. If you wish someone to have more blessings and love, you will receive blessings and love a thousand times more. If you wish someone illness and misfortune, you will receive bad luck and misfortunes a thousand times more. I am sure you have noticed that when you are in a good mood, everything seems to fall into place. However, when you are angry or depressed a string of bad luck seems to follow you all the more.

Manifesting: What Is It

Posted on Feb 9th, 2007 by Joann : Life Magick: Manifesting Desires Joann

The word “manifesting” means to make something tangible or readily perceived by the senses especially by sight (this is according to Merriam-Webster Dictionary). The word can be applied in many ways depending on the context. For our purpose, manifesting can be applied because we want to materialize our desires, goals & dreams that only take their forms in our minds. Oh no, this will not give you the power to control other people because nobody can do that. Each of us was given a free will and we should use that will to make conscious choices so that we will reach our highest potential.

Manifesting is a way of empowering us. It enables us to take charge of our lives instead of just leaving it to chance and fate. It gives us the power to transform our thoughts into something that is real & material to us. If you keep thinking about money, a picture of a dollar bill or a check will come into your mind. Sooner or later this will become an experience for you in your reality. You might see a dollar bill on a billboard or hear someone talk about money. Of course if you only see it or hear about it but not own it, it is of no use to you. You might as well try another way of manifesting it.

Although manifesting is a gift intended to grant our wishes, it will work against us if we do not make a conscious choice of what we are going to manifest. We can manifest even if it is something we do not want as long as we keep the thought of that object or idea in our mind.

Manifesting is an amazing gift that wields power to fulfill our deepest desires as well as our greatest fear, so use it wisely…
